Aid Thomas – artworks
“I much prefer not telling you what to think…”
An artist I knew once said “the Visual Artist has nothing to say” – I didn’t agree with that then, and still don’t, but I won’t tell you what to think, especially about my artwork…
I draw and paint, and sometimes work three-dimensionally, around 3 or 4 themes.. ‘water’, ‘stone’ and ‘river’ and last, but hardly least, ‘Time’ itself…
Beth Nielsen Chapman said it quite beautifully in her song “Sand and Water” –
“Solid stone, it’s just sand and water,
Sand and water and a million years gone by…”
..so it’s all a vast cycle of nature, very appealing to my own artistic Celtic-Druid nature, and fits well with my latest ‘role’ as a beach cleaner on Swanage beach…
